Who Can Apply?

  • Anyone unable to vote in person on Election Day (October 20) or during Advance Polls (October 7-11).
  • Common reasons: out of town, working at a polling station, wanting to vote independently from home, or other personal reasons.

Electors must be registered to vote. If you are not already on the register, you can register as part of your special ballot application by sending a copy of accepted identification.

How to Request a Special Ballot Package:

Requests to receive special ballots by mail must be made by 4:30 p.m. on October 13.

Requests to pick up special ballots in-person must be made by 7:00 p.m. on October 20.

Canada Post Strike

"Despite the Canada Post strike, voters who apply for special ballots will receive their packages. If you are able, you can switch your delivery method to ‘pick up’ from the Elections Office and we will notify you when it is ready.

We are also working with alternative service providers to send out special ballot packages in the coming days.”

More information on Special Ballots can be found here.
