Weekly Round-up (Dec 6 - 10, 2021)

It’s icy out there! Crews are working all over the city to deal with the icy conditions - please be careful out there and be patient as they work their way through the City.

ICY CONDITIONS

It’s icy out there! Crews are working all over the city to deal with the icy conditions - please be careful out there and be patient as they work their way through the City.

In this supplemental budget, I plan to put forward a motion on enhanced snow and ice maintenance in residential areas to increase service in the new year.

Our office is always happy to hear from residents so we get a sense of what is going on in the ward! I do want to highlight that for day-to-day operation requests like snow or ice concerns, contacting 311 is the fastest way to address your request.

UTILITY COMMITTEE

One of the topics discussed at the Utility Committee was waste collection. I inquired about ways that we can improve this service. City Administration will bring a report back to Council in early 2022.

In terms of the 2022 Supplemental Budget - Waste Services recommends a zero percent rate increase for 2022, with the exception of multi-unit transitional customer rates.

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

This week I virtually attended the Grade 6 Class at McArthur School in Wellington. Thank you to these bright students for sharing their insightful perspectives and questions. 🙌

I also attended the Lauderdale Community League meeting this week! They’re doing so many great things for the community to ensure that Lauderdale has a strong community connections. Their outdoor rink was almost ready and looking great! I’m look forward to meeting more amazing community members and volunteers over the next while.

Have a great weekend!
